DON'T FEAR >SHARING FROM PASTOR ALLEN

DON'T FEAR >SHARING FROM PASTOR
IN GOD, WHOSE WORD
I PRAISE, IN THE LORD, WHOSE
WORD I PRAISE--
IN GOD I TRUST;
I WILL NOT BE AFRAID.
( PSALM 56:10-11 *NIV )

Dear FRIENDS,
Even in today's World, there is no reason to be fearful of the
future with God by your side!
For, GOD HAS SAID, "NEVER
WILL I LEAVE YOU;
NEVER WILL I FORSAKE YOU."
SO WE SAY WITH
CONFIDENCE, "THE LORD IS MY
HELPER; I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT CAN MAN DO
TO ME?" ( HEBREWS 13:5-6 )

After all what is fear but the opposite of faith! Therefore
fear is a tool which satan uses to undermine our faith in
God. For, WITHOUT FAITH
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO
PLEASE GOD, BECAUSE ANYONE WHO COMES TO
HIM MUST BELIEVE THAT HE EXISTS AND THAT HE
REWARDS THOSE WHO EARNESTLY SEEK HIM.
( HEBREWS 11:6 ) Therefore God has said, MY
RIGHTEOUS ONE WILL LIVE BY FAITH.
( HEBREWS 10:38 )

So, do not be fearful of the future, or terrorists,
or anything else. Instead keep your faith strong for: THEN
NO HARM WILL BEFALL YOU, NO DISASTER WILL COME
NEAR YOUR TENT. FOR HE WILL COMMAND HIS
ANGELS CONCERNING YOU TO GUARD YOU IN ALL
YOUR WAYS. Amen ( PSALM 91:10-11 )

Heaven

HEAVEN

(1.) Definitions. The phrase "heaven and earth" is used to indicate the whole universe (Genesis 1:1; Jeremiah 23:24; Acts 17:24). According to the Jewish notion there were three heavens,

(a) The firmament, as "fowls of the heaven" (Genesis 2:19; 7:3, 23; Psalm 8:8, etc.), "the eagles of heaven" (Lamentations 4:19), etc.

(b) The starry heavens (Deuteronomy 17:3; Jeremiah 8:2; Matthew 24:29).

(c) "The heaven of heavens," or "the third heaven" (Deuteronomy 10:14; 1 Kings 8:27; Psalm 115:16; 148:4; 2 Corinthians 12:2).

(2.) Meaning of words in the original,

(a) The usual Hebrew word for "heavens" is shamayim, a plural form meaning "heights," "elevations" (Genesis 1:1; 2:1).

(b) The Hebrew word marom is also used (Psalm 68:18; 93:4; 102:19, etc.) as equivalent to shamayim, "high places," "heights."

(c) Hebrews galgal, literally a "wheel," is rendered "heaven" in Psalm 77:18 (R.V., "whirlwind").

(d) Hebrews shahak, rendered "sky" (Deuteronomy 33:26; Job 37:18; Psalm 18:11), plural "clouds" (Job 35:5; 36:28; Psalm 68:34, marg. "heavens"), means probably the firmament.

(e) Hebrews rakia is closely connected with (d), and is rendered "firmamentum" in the Vulgate, whence our "firmament" (Genesis 1:6; Deuteronomy 33:26, etc.), regarded as a solid expanse.

(3.) Metaphorical meaning of term. Isaiah 14:13, 14; "doors of heaven" (Psalm 78:23); heaven "shut" (1 Kings 8:35); "opened" (Ezek. 1:1). (See 1 Chronicles 21:16.)

(4.) Spiritual meaning. The place of the everlasting blessedness of the righteous; the abode of departed spirits.

(a) Christ calls it his "Father's house" (John 14:2).

(b) It is called "paradise" (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 12:4; Revelation 2:7).

(c) "The heavenly Jerusalem" (Galatians 4: 26; Hebrews 12:22; Revelation 3:12).

(d) The "kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 25:1; James 2:5).

(e) The "eternal kingdom" (2 Peter 1:11).

(f) The "eternal inheritance" (1 Peter 1:4; Hebrews 9:15).

(g) The "better country" (Hebrews 11:14, 16).

(h) The blessed are said to "sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob," and to be "in Abraham's bosom" (Luke 16:22; Matthew 8:11); to "reign with Christ" (2 Timothy 2:12); and to enjoy "rest" (Hebrews 4:10, 11).

In heaven the blessedness of the righteous consists in the possession of "life everlasting," "an eternal weight of glory" (2 Corinthians 4:17), an exemption from all sufferings for ever, a deliverance from all evils (2 Corinthians 5:1, 2) and from the society of the wicked (2 Timothy 4:18), bliss without termination, the "fulness of joy" for ever (Luke 20:36; 2 Corinthians 4:16, 18; 1 Peter 1:4; 5:10; 1 John 3:2). The believer's heaven is not only a state of everlasting blessedness, but also a "place", a place "prepared" for them (John 14:2).

Trials & Testing

Hello to Everyone whom identifies in times of trials that tests us all in whom we really truly are in the Lord Jesus Christ in whom he is in our life. For this person it's really been more trials and testing than any human being could ever bear or at least it sure does feel like it in this persons own walk in Jesus Christ. Often times enough I wanted to throw in my towel and just give up and to leave it all alone and never go back to it. But you know through sharing with Christians here and there just worked for awhile but it usually only worked for a short while to my own dismay. Let me share some of the things that we had gone through but it still only scratched the surface in this e-mail and believe me when I share with you that alot of it was so much deeper in alot of areas of our life then only to watch it hit rock bottom when all else failed, but only to hang -on is what we had to endure to keep on searching for an answer is so far away but yet right within me to say the least. My husband and I had lost everything in our life, homes, motorcycles, finances, trailer for the scooters, clothes that people had stolen, people breaking in our home during a renovation, different items in our home came up missing, vehicles gone and most of all hardly No food to eat and if we did eat most often times enough it went bad because of them came by the way of food pantries which didn't stay fresh but soured and went bad in No time at all, or wasn't enough to last a whole month. Just like many countless of people whom found themselves in similiar ways as well. We gave our tithe to our church in giving back to him as it ought to be.But as time went on it really got very bad for us. It just didn't seem like nothing was changing for us, No matter what we thought about it at the time but we did pray about all that had taken place. We even thought we could trust friends, aquaintences, and even family members too. We both are disabled grown adults on a fixed income that just don't take us very far at all. Then I had to have surgery, that had taken it' toll on me then hubby got down with his weight loss, always made sure that I ate first and whatever was left he ate then. He lost alot of weight and almost died on me twice. es, we had alot of people praying for us all over the u.s.a. and around our hometown too. this wasn't the half of it all either for what had taken place in both of our lives. There is so much more than I could share with you on losses that we've taken and it felt like people in the world just beat the dickens out of us. Here recently, we lost another home, car broke down and has to get another car and older kids just ignore us or had used us to get there own way to do there own things in life. I mean to tell you the world showed up and ripped us into spiritually, physcially, mentally too.Now were staying with a family member that isn't about God at all they truly have satan written all over themselves and by all means don't talk about your God while your here because we don't wanna hear it not only us but our grandkids too. So we have to live it out in front of them and as we do it on sunday morning they literally leave the home so they don't have to hear God's messages at all. So we listen to the radio stations on the pc and they hear it when they go into the kitchen as they try to hurry out of it too. While all this had taken place we felt our selves getting down futher in our health, hardly No christian person came by except for a young 24 year old man and his mother in whom we known from where we onced lived and we all had gone to different churches to get some food that had been prepard at the church where they had gone to themselves. Now they both stop by to still help us out in fedding us with God's word and keeping us in their prayers. They are the ones whom our God has sent them our way. In the mean time I could only cry in spirits and I've always had trouble in weeping since I was a young adolecent. My parents were abusive and I had been told not to cry or I would get it even worse. It stuck with me till this day. Now I've had trouble with all kinds of grieving now, and crying as well. Here recently I've watched my husband go down hill now with his sickness that he has and it all stems from his years of smoking cigarettes and how it effects him now. It just hurts to have watched him go down like he has now. Lung Cancer isn't a pretty disease at all! they are treating for COPD, Emphysema, chronic bronchits, chronic asthma,we know it can and will cause death eventually in his own life. We as well as other's have always stayed in His Word and praying it through like we do today. I have found my self hanging on unto Jesus Christ every single day of my life. I have a deep personal relationship [John1:12] with Him and I'm never letting Him go either. I've found myself deeply enriched in him as I embraced the Lord Jesus Christ. I know He's the only person that will see me through it all. He's seeing me through all of my brokeness that deep within me even though it's crushed as I truly know it's one of those growing pains as I am going through it all in Him changing me to be more like my Father Jesus Christ. For at the same time he's healing me as I mourn all of those things that has came my way.[ps.50:15]. As I have faced my sadness head on and not keep it hidden because at different times I felt that I didn't measure up not only to one self but God and how things came about for us. I had to somehow find joy but it felt a long ways away and out of reach as well.[Neh.8:7-10]I had to muster in giving him thanks and praises unto the Lord when I just didn't wanna do it. But I did and as time went on I had joy and then it became so much strength in knowing that our God had the ability to bring me through, and the bondage had finally broke through for Him to care and love me as His child. I put my cares and all of my worries upon Him [1Pe.5:7], For when I put my trust in Him he keeps me sturdy as He is my rock to keep me in Him [Is.26:3]. For He's he takes me with him and gives me so much strength so I won't be wearly or faint because of His wings of an eagle that keeps close to him [Is.40:31]. For Jesus won't let me stumble or fall for Jesus watches over me [Ps.121:3]. What a wonderful Father that we have being His own children [Heb.4:15,16]. Just as He has shown me to rise up early and begin my day being in him to set a time for me to pray unto Him so I can finally share this with you and countless of others whom He places before me [[Heb.6:17-20]. For God is alway's in Control and often times enough I ought to move out of His way and allow Him to prepare me, in strength to know His wisdom as I go forth in Him... the problem is I moved out from Him and he brought me back unto Himself. I'm so very thankful for His love, which does truly care for me. After all He knows his creations of which He had made and with His guidence and direction is so awesome and honored by what he does before me thank you Jesus ! [Acts17:29], I'm so glad for whom He is in my life today. I cleared out an idol so he can help me attain him more than less I then become to whom all honor is due unto Jesus Christ than I could try to say to you. I hope and pray he keeps on transforming me more and more so I can continue to share more things with you as he helps me grow in Him because all things are possible with our God. catcmo2006

RENEWING YOUR STRENGTH

Isaiah 40:27-31, "Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God? Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."There are always those times when it seems that Satan is getting the best of us. Sometimes it’s a little hard to maintain your faith and trust in God when everything is going against us and we are in the middle of one of the greatest battles of our life. It is in those times that we need the Lord more than ever. It is in those times that our faith and trust in God is really put to the test. This is where the rubber meets the road, so to speak, in our walk with the Lord.It is easy to live for God and trust in Him when all is going well. It is not so easy to do so when the weight of the whole world is upon our shoulders. Too many Christians bail out on God as soon as the storms get rough. If your life is in the middle of turmoil and the waves of temptation are about to swamp you, look up and put your trust in God for that is the moment that He is really putting your faith to the test to see if you will pass or fail. That is the moment when your trust is built. That is the moment that your relationship with God will really show its true depth.Illustration:Have you heard about the "gator aid" that was given to enlisted men in a Florida training camp during World War II? The daily training for those GIs included a run through an obstacle course. On the final stretch of the endurance test, they had to grab a rope and swing across a broad, shallow pool. Under the blazing southern sun the water looked so inviting to the men that most of them soon developed a habit of making it only halfway across the pond--that is, until an enterprising lieutenant made it the new home for a large alligator. From that day on, the recruits left the ground 15 feet from the water’s edge and fell sprawling in the dust on the other side. Likewise, our behavior as Christians must sometimes be shaped by the "encouragement" of the danger of unfavorable circumstances. Without God’s loving correction and faithful discipline we would never develop spiritual strength and endurance. If the Lord didn’t permit threatening conditions to come into our lives, we’d soon succumb to feelings of self-sufficiency and overconfidence. We must not forget that God has promised us that we would never be tempted above what we are able to bear, but with every temptation, every trial, every test, every trouble, He will make a way for us to escape and win the victory. (1 Corinthians 10:13)God never promised that we wouldn’t have hard times. He never promised that we would sail through life without troubles. What He did promise is that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He promised that He would supply our every need. He promised in Psalms 55:22, "Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."In the passage above, Israel had become discouraged so God had to remind them of just Who He Is. God is still in control and those who would place their trust in Him would be renewed in their strength.I don’t know about you, but there are times when my strength fails. I know that many of you do too because you are always asking for prayer for strength to stand for the Lord. There is nothing wrong with praying for strength. In fact, that’s the best thing you can do. But, if you really want to have more strength, God has already laid down the pattern for you to get stronger in these verses. The first thing is that you must realize who God is and what He is doing for you right now. To you, the trial you are facing is very personal and it seems that no one else can relate or understand but you have to realize that multitudes of people have faced and are facing the same situations that you are. Your circumstances are no surprise to God. Your troubles don’t move God. He knew what was coming and He already has an answer for every one of them. We will only see victory if we do it God’s way.God is God and He is all-powerful. There is no limit to His ability to meet you need. There is no limit to His deliverance and provision for whatever you need. God never gets tired, never grows weary, and is always listening for the prayers of His children to rush to their aid. What will we do with the trials that face us? Will we turn to our own devices and make decisions that will cause us to have less time for God,for the church, or even for our families? Will we forget the Word of God and become depressed because we don’t have the faith that everything will really do as Paul said that it would do in Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Will we abandon our promises made in the moments of triumph? Will we forget our commitments to Christ that were made when all was going well? Will we forget the times in the past that God has brought us through some rough times? Will we forget the blessings, the healings, the miracles and every good thing that God has done? Will we overlook the fact that God has always been and will always be faithful to His promises in the Word of God? What will we do now that things are not perfect any more?It is time we stopped our pity party, quit looking like it is the end of the world, and lift up our eyes to Hills of Glory where our help comes from. God is far above our petty troubles no matter how bad they might seem to us.God will not allow us to fail if we will keep our trust and faith in Him.So now the test is on – the question is not one of survival but whether you will pass or fail? If you pass, your faith and trust will grow stronger. If you fail, you will abandon the ways of righteousness, turn your back on God and put everything in your life in jeopardy, or, you will face similar trials again down the road until you learn the lesson of faith and trust. The choice to fail or pass is our alone. God will not force our decision one way or another because He wants us to learn and to grow in Him. God will deal with our decision as a loving Father and not as a tyrannical Dictator.…there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strengthI wish I could say that I understand why God allows some things to happen. I wish I could but I can’t. His ways are far above my understanding ability. I can only put my trust in Him with faith and know that somehow God will take care of everything.God knows how to give you the power to overcome. He will take your weaknesses, your failures, your doubts and fears, and He will turn them into miracles of deliverance. In fact, God often does not move until we have given it over to Him completely because He will not share the glory of your deliverance with you. It is all of Him or none of Him. God is our source of strength. God is our source of provision. God is our source of power. God is our source for everything we need! We can’t do anything within ourselves.Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:We may pride ourselves in our ability to take care of ourselves. We in America, have such a pride in our freedom and independence that we hate having to admit that we need help from anyone, including God.But this scriptures tell us that no matter how strong or independent we may be, we cannot do it alone. God often has to bring us to the place where we have to stop trying, turn to Him and say, “God, that’s all I can do, now it’s up to you.” God is waiting for those words but they often aren’t said until we have exhausted our own ideas with no results. The longer I live, the more I realize that everything is in God’s hands. When I was younger I was more inclined to solve everything with my own ability. Now, after many years of trials, tests and troubles, I am just beginning to get a real glimpse of what living by faith really means. Faith says that everything will work out when it seems that everything is crumbling around me. Faith says that my bills will be paid when I can’t see how they will in the natural sense. Faith says that God will take care of me and that I must force myself to stop being overly concerned with the future. Faith says that I know, that I know, that I know, that somehow, God will work it all out and that when He does, I will be so greatly blessed for having faced all that is happening right now.But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."This is a scripture that has been preached on so many times that I cannot count them. We quote it, we read it, we preach it, but do we really believe it?Waiting upon the Lord requires true faith. Waiting upon the Lord requires going through the fire sometimes and still trusting God to bring us through. Waiting upon the Lord requires that we believe in the impossible, look for the unseen answers, hope in the times of hopelessness and know, without knowing why or how, that God will take care of us.Baby eaglets, in their nest, can do nothing but wait until the mother eagle returns to her nest to bring the necessary food, drink or whatever else is needed to keep her eaglets alive. We must stay in the “nest” of God’s house, trust in the fact that He will bring us what we need, and then accept and digest what comes because we know its for our own good. Those baby eaglets will cry, scream, flap around a lot, and generally make a real scene while they are being cared for. Does that sound like some Christians you know? When the trials come they will cry and moan and scream and let the whole world know just how bad things really are. It as though they are drowning in tears, dying in sorrow, and God has abandoned them. Where is faith in that kind of reaction? How can we say that we trust in our Almighty God to meet every need and then act as though we have no hope? The reason so many Christians fail the fiery tests of their faith is that too many are bankrupt spiritually when the trials come and so we have no faith and trust in God in our spiritual account to draw strength from.We haven’t spent time preparing and “saving up” our blessingsfor the “rainy day” of trials to come. We haven’t spent time studying. We haven’t spent time praying. We have fasted at all. We have gone about our daily lives as though there would never come a time of trouble when we have to know that they are surely around the corner.God won’t let you stay on the mountaintop for long because it’s down in the valley that your faith and strength will grow. There is a song that I listen to every now and then that says this:The God on the MountainIs still God in the valleyWhen things go wrong He’ll make them rightThe God of the Good TimesIs still God in the Bad TimesThe God of the Day Is still God in the NightThat’s the God that we serve. Isaiah 59:1, "Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:"Some of us, if not all of us, are facing some great battles and trials. It’s testing time and we are taking our final exams. God has blessed and now it’s time to see if we will trust Him or not.Illustration:Though many of us have seen pictures of a huge eagle’s nest high in the branches of a tree or in the crag of a cliff, few of us have gotten a glimpse inside. When a mother eagle builds her nest she starts with thorns, broken branches, sharp rocks, and a number of other items that seem entirely unsuitable for the project. But then she lines the nest with a thick padding of wool, feathers, and fur from animals she has killed, making it soft and comfortable for the eggs. By the time the growing birds reach flying age, the comfort of the nest and the luxury of free meals make them quite reluctant to leave. That’s when the mother eagle begins "stirring up the nest." With her strong talons she begins pulling up the thick carpet of fur and feathers, bringing the sharp rocks and branches to the surface. As more of the bedding gets plucked up, the nest becomes more uncomfortable for the young eagles. Eventually, this and other urgings prompt the growing eagles to leave their once-comfortable abode and move on to more mature behavior. Today in the Word,Auguust 26,2007 Just as that mother eagle never forgets to come back to her nest, Jesus will not forget you either. As that mother eagle is always out gathering and preparing a way for her little eaglets, so is Jesus, the Good Shepherd, gathering, preparing and protecting his sheep. Just as the mother eagle stirs her nest to force her eaglets to grow up, Jesus has to stir us up, mess up our little playhouse, if you will, and make us uncomfortable enough to mature and be more like Him.If you are facing great trials and tests right now, then lift up your head. Look to Jesus because your answer is already on the way. Don’t allow Satan do destroy your victory. Don’t allow him to convince you that all is lost. Don’t listen to his deceiving, lying voice. Listen to voice of the Lord and the Word of God and lift up your head for your redemption is closer than you think. It won’t be long until this world and all of it’s troubles will be left behind. We shall see the King in all His glory. We shall be like Him and be with Him in Heaven. What a wonderful day that will be when my Jesus I shall see; when I look upon His face and behold His grace. But until then my heart will go on singing. Until then with grace I’ll carry on. Until the day that my eyes behold the Savior, I will put my faith and trust in Him and He will not fail.Wait upon the Lord. Put your faith and trust in Him and He will let your spirit soar above this world. He will lift your spirit upon eagle’s wings and you will be strengthened for the journey ahead. Only by patient waiting, placing your whole-hearted faith in Jesus and trusting in Him totally will you have your strength renewed.God has it all under control. If you are a Child of the Most High God, then look up for your Father sees your need and your answer is already on the way! Prayer:Father YHVH in the Name of Yeshua HaMashiach, make us into what You wish for us to be. May we accept Your Divine Will and Purpose. May we recognize that the things that You have done for us and the situations that You have put us in were for our own good, so that we would call upon You for our salvation and deliverance, so that we would learn to trust in and rely on You, and that we would not consider ourselves to be mighty or that we would be such as those who could deliver ourselves by our own hand. May we not hate our backgrounds and our circumstances, but may we praise You for them. May we use what we have learned and experienced in our trials and tribulations to serve you, and to help and counsel others that are going through the same thing. May we not complain or become envious, resentful, and bitter Lord, for we know that everyone suffers pain, and may we also realize that we might have suffered more pain than others because we were more capable of bearing it than others. Lord, we know that You foreknew us, and that You have not given us more than we can handle if we were to only put our trust in and call out to You. Lord, we know that it honestly does seem unfair sometimes, especially when someone suffers illness or injury, or loses a tender loved one. Lord, let not those crises drive us from You and make us bitter, but draw us closer to You. When those times happen and people cry out for answers, please hear their call Lord, or send someone their way who can and will give them answers. Ultimately Lord may Your children seek to live for the next life and not for this one, and may Your children counsel others to do the same. May we not run from the reality that sin came into this world and that Satan and his demons come to steal, kill, and destroy. May we not settle for humanistic devices that are more easy for public consumption and deny truth, for running from the truth does not give people the answers that they need to truly convert to You and to endure until the end without becoming selfish, self - seeking, bitter, or going after false doctrines and religions. May we remember that people out there are looking for answers to take away the pain and to help them endure their trials, and that only the Truth, the hope and promise of the return of Your Word Yeshua HaMashiach, can give that to them. May they know that the sin that came into the world and the Satan and his demons that come to steal, kill, and destroy and the people who give themselves over to him rather than resisting him by accepting and living the gospel shall be judged, and may that motivate them to endure until the end, not only because of their reward and desire to avoid punishment, but because they want to be a part in justice. May they want to resist the enemy and Satan in this life, and rule and reign with You in righteousness in the next life. May Your true children know that it is not that we shall overcome, but that we have already overcome in Christ Jesus. No matter what we have done, no matter what has happened in our lives, we have already overcome, and may we always remember Lord the great victory that You have gotten for us. In the Name of Yeshua HaMashaich, amen.

Daily Devotional -Morning & Evening

Morning Verse
"He hath commanded His covenant for ever." Psalms 111:9

The Lord's people delight in the covenant itself. It is an unfailing source of consolation to them so often as the Holy Spirit leads them into its banqueting house and waves its banner of love. They delight to contemplate the antiquity of that covenant, remembering that before the day-star knew its place, or planets ran their round, the interests of the saints were made secure in Christ Jesus. It is peculiarly pleasing to them to remember the sureness of the covenant, while meditating upon "the sure mercies of David." They delight to celebrate it as "signed, and sealed, and ratified, in all things ordered well." It often makes their hearts dilate with joy to think of its immutability, as a covenant which neither time nor eternity, life nor death, shall ever be able to violate--a covenant as old as eternity and as everlasting as the Rock of ages. They rejoice also to feast upon the fulness of this covenant, for they see in it all things provided for them. God is their portion, Christ their companion, the Spirit their Comforter, earth their lodge, and heaven their home. They see in it an inheritance reserved and entailed to every soul possessing an interest in its ancient and eternal deed of gift. Their eyes sparkled when they saw it as a treasure-trove in the Bible; but oh! how their souls were gladdened when they saw in the last will and testament of their divine kinsman, that it was bequeathed to them! More especially it is the pleasure of God's people to contemplate the graciousness of this covenant. They see that the law was made void because it was a covenant of works and depended upon merit, but this they perceive to be enduring because grace is the basis, grace the condition, grace the strain, grace the bulwark, grace the foundation, grace the topstone. The covenant is a treasury of wealth, a granary of food, a fountain of life, a store-house of salvation, a charter of peace, and a haven of joy.

Evening Verse
"The people, when they beheld Him, were greatly amazed, and running to Him saluted Him." Mark 9:15

How great the difference between Moses and Jesus! When the prophet of Horeb had been forty days upon the mountain, he underwent a kind of transfiguration, so that his countenance shone with exceeding brightness, and he put a veil over his face, for the people could not endure to look upon his glory. Not so our Saviour. He had been transfigured with a greater glory than that of Moses, and yet, it is not written that the people were blinded by the blaze of His countenance, but rather they were amazed, and running to Him they saluted Him. The glory of the law repels, but the greater glory of Jesus attracts. Though Jesus is holy and just, yet blended with His purity there is so much of truth and grace, that sinners run to Him amazed at His goodness, fascinated by His love; they salute Him, become His disciples, and take Him to be their Lord and Master. Reader, it may be that just now you are blinded by the dazzling brightness of the law of God. You feel its claims on your conscience, but you cannot keep it in your life. Not that you find fault with the law, on the contrary, it commands your profoundest esteem, still you are in nowise drawn by it to God; you are rather hardened in heart, and are verging towards desperation. Ah, poor heart! turn thine eye from Moses, with all his repelling splendour, and look to Jesus, resplendent with milder glories. Behold His flowing wounds and thorn-crowned head! He is the Son of God, and therein He is greater than Moses, but He is the Lord of love, and therein more tender than the lawgiver. He bore the wrath of God, and in His death revealed more of God's justice than Sinai on a blaze, but that justice is now vindicated, and henceforth it is the guardian of believers in Jesus. Look, sinner, to the bleeding Saviour, and as thou feelest the attraction of His love, fly to His arms, and thou shalt be saved.

CAN YOU HER HIS VOICE?

CAN YOU HEAR HIS VOICE?

God is calling to His children
With a steady still small voice
Asking gently if we’re ready
To let Him make every choice

He’s our Captain, Coach and Leader
Every call He makes is right
As our Nurturer and Feeder
Fills our hearts with pure delight

We are blessed and helped and cared for
By a God who’s always there
He makes note of every question
He responds to every prayer

He is faithful to the promise
That He made so long ago
When He said, “I’ll never leave you”
That’s a truth to keep and know

We can trust Him in the morning
Every noon and every night
When we’re sad or when we’re soaring
He’s the One Who makes things bright

Can you hear Him gently calling
He brings peace and joy today
He will keep your feet from falling
Run to Him without delay !!!

Jude 24, 25 Now unto Him that is able
to keep you from falling, and to present you
faultless before the presence of His glory
with exceeding joy, to the only wise God
our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion
and power, both now and ever, Amen

When God Draws Close

When God Draws CloseIn the still hours of the nightWhen all the world is sleeping,Many souls are in despair,In the darkness softly weeping. Some are gripped by loneliness,Missing loved ones gone.Life doesn't seem worth living,It's a struggle to carry on.Others are fighting harsh pain,Crying out for relief; They try to keep on prayingBut it's hard to hold on to belief.Yet it's in the darkest hoursUntil the morning light,God draws close to those who sufferIn the stillness of the night. He longs to give them comfort,Take every pain away,Enfolds them in His loving armsUntil the night turns into day.Copyright Marian Jones 2004

It's In The Valleys I Grow

It's In The Valleys I Grow
Sometimes life seems hard to bear,Full of sorrow, trouble and woeIt's then I have to rememberThat it's in the valleys I grow.If I always stayed on the mountain topAnd never experienced pain,I would never appreciate God's loveAnd would be living in vain.I have so much to learnAnd my growth is very slow,Sometimes I need the mountain tops,But it's in the valleys I grow.I do not always understandWhy things happen as they do,But I am very sure of one thing,My Lord will see me through. My little valleys are nothingWhen I picture Christ on the crossHe went through the valley of death; His victory was Satan's loss.Forgive me Lord, for complainingWhen I'm feeling so very low.Just give me a gentle reminderThat it's in the valleys I grow.Continue to strengthen me, LordAnd use my life each dayTo share your love with othersAnd help them find their way.Thank you for the valleys, LordFor this one thing I knowThe mountain tops are gloriousBut it's in the valleys I grow! Worlliness Is Wrong Dear Church

Worldliness Is Wrong! Dear Church
by catcmo 2006

A message to a church that is in adultery with the world

PECULIAR PEOPLE

The world is too much amongst us! God has called his church to be separate from the world. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye seperate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” God desires a Church that is “perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” Scripture says in another place: “Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” Horatius Bonar said over 200 years ago: “I looked for the Church and I found it in the world, and I looked for the world and I found it in the Church.” A worldly Church will never win the world. Keith Daniel said: “If we try to win the world by being like the world the world will win you!” A peculiar people is a powerful people! God anoints a set apart Church with the Power of His Spirit, there is no other way. We must be a peculiar people in these “last days,” God is calling apart a people that love the “things of God” more then the “things of the world.”

THE CHURCH WALKING WITH THE WORLD

The Church and the World walked far apart. On the changing shore of time; The World was singing a giddy song, The Church a hymn sublime. "Come give me your hand," said the merry World, "And walk with me this way," But the good Church hid her snowy hand, And solemnly answered, "Nay; I will not give you my hand at all, And I will not walk with you; Your way is the way of eternal death, And your words are all untrue." "Nay, walk with me a little space," Said the World with a kindly air, The road I walk is a pleasant road, And the sun shines always there. Your way is narrow and thorny and rough, While mine is flowery and smooth; Your lot is sad with reproach and toil, But in rounds of joy I move. My way, you can see, is a broad, fair one, And my gate is high and wide; There is room enough for you and me, And we'll travel side by side."

Half shyly the Church approached the World, And gave him her hand of snow; And the false World grasped it, and walked along, And whispered in accents low, "Your dress is to simple to please my taste; I have gold and pearls to wear; Rich velvets and silks for your graceful form, And diamonds to deck your hair." The Church looked down at her plain white robes, And then at the dazzling World, And blushed as she saw his handsome lip. With a smile contemptuous curled; "I will change my dress for a costlier one," Said the Church with a smile of grace; Then her pure white garments drifted away, And the World gave in their place Beautiful satins, and fashionable silks, And roses and gems and pearls; And over her forehead her bright hair fell. And waved in a thousand curls.

"Your house is to plain," said the proud old World, "I will build you one like mine, With kitchen for feasting and parlor for play, And furniture never so fine." So he built her a costly and beautiful house-Splendid it was to behold; Her sons and her daughters met frequently there, Shining in purple and gold. The Angel of mercy flew over the Church, And whispered, "I know thy sin;" Then the Church looked sad, and anxiously longed. To gather her children in. But some were away at the midnight ball, And others were at the play; And some were drinking in gay saloons, So she quietly went her way.

Then said the World in soothing tones, "Your children mean no harm-Merely indulging in innocent sports," So she leaned on his proffered arm, And smiled, and chatted, and gathered flowers, And walked along with the World, While countless millions of precious souls. Over the fearful brink were hurled. "Your preachers are all to old and plain," Said the gay World with a sneer; "They frighten my children with dreadful tales, Which I like not for them to hear. They talk of judgments and fire and pain, And the doom of darkest night; They warn of a place that should not be. Mentioned to ears polite! I will send you some of a better stamp, More brilliant and gay and fast, Who will show how men may live as they list. And then go to heaven at last."

"The Father is merciful, great, and good, Loving and tender and kind; Do you think He would take one child to heaven, And leave another behind?" So she called for pleasing and gay divines. Deemed gifted , and great, and learned; And the plain old men that had preached the cross, Were out of her pulpits turned. Then Mammon came in and supported the Church, And rented a prominent pew; And preaching and singing and floral display. Soon proclaimed a gospel new. "You give too much to the poor," said the World, "Far more than you ought to do; Though the poor need shelter, food, and clothes, Why need it trouble you?" "Go, take your money and buy rich robes. And horses and carriages fine; And pearls and jewels and dainty food, The rarest and costliest wine. My children, they dote on all such things. And if you their love would win, You must do as they do, and walk in the way. Which they are walking in."

Then the Church drew tightly the strings of her purse, And gracefully lowered her head, And simpered, "I've given too much away, I will do, sir, as you have said." So the poor were turned from her door in scorn, She heard not the orphans' cry; And she drew her beautiful robes aside. As the widows went weeping by. So they of the Church and they of the World. Journeyed closely, hand and heart, And none but the Master, who knows all, Could discern the two apart. Then the Church sat down at her ease and said, "I am rich and in goods increased; I have need of nothing, and naught to do, But to laugh and dance and feast."

The sly World heard her and laughed within, And mockingly said aside, "The Church is fallen, the beautiful Church, Her shame is her boast and pride." A voice came down from the courts of heaven, From Him who sat on the throne; "I know thy works and what thou hast said, But alas! thou hast not known That thou art poor and naked and blind, With pride and ruin enthralled; The expectant bride of a heavenly Groom. Is companion of the world! Humble thy heart, confess thy sin, Let shame now cover thy face; Or else, alas! I must cast thee out, And blot thy name from its place."

(Author Unknown)

"Adulterers and adulteresses! Know you not that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself the enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, 'The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously?" (James 4:4,5)

WORLDLINESS IN THE CHURCH

Leonard Ravenhill gives a litmus test for a man walking with God: "The true man of God is heartsick, grieved at the worldliness of the Church...grieved at the toleration of sin in the Church, grieved at the prayerlessness in the Church. He is disturbed that the corporate prayer of the Church no longer pulls down the strongholds of the devil." Truly today it is a time of “weeping” and “shame” of how the world is triumphing over the Church and walking over us. Christ said “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” What a fearful statement: “trodden under foot” Do we not see this today as the world is mocking and walking over all decency and any standard the Church stands for? The cry of the world is “Where is their God?” They do not see God in the Church, for the Church is powerless!

Samuel Chadwick said: “The Holy Ghost cannot conquer the world with unbelief, nor can He save the world with a worldly Church. He calls for a crusade, a campaign, and an adventure of saving passion. For this enterprise He wants a separated, sanctified and sacrificial people." Alas Christian do you find yourself not separated from the world? Read the words of A.W. Pink to see where your heart is at: "The nature of Christ's salvation is woefully misrepresented by the present-day evangelist. He announces a Savior from hell rather than a Savior from sin. And that is why so many are fatally deceived, for there are multitudes who wish to escape the Lake of fire who have no desire to be delivered from their carnality and worldliness."

A CHRISTIAN AND YET A WORLDLING?

Horatius Bonar speaks forth a rebuke to a worldly complacent Church: “Go on in your worldliness; fling yourselves headlong into the torrent of earth's vanities; but know that the end of these things is death! "Do not love the world or the things that belong to the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him." (1 John 2:15) "You adulterers! Don't you realize that friendship with this world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again, that if your aim is to enjoy this world, you can't be a friend of God." (James 4:4). The point is settled. The Christian cannot take part with the world in its follies, and gaieties, and sins! What! A Christian and yet a worldling! singing its idle songs, hurrying through its mazy dance, partaking in its mirth and revelry! Impossible! We have ceased to be citizens of earth's polluted cities; we are citizens of heaven! We have a home--but not in the palaces or haunts of the world. We have a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens! ‘But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ!’”

Thomas Brooks said: “The honors, splendor, and all the glory of this world, are but sweet poisons. which will much endanger us, if they do not eternally destroy us.” Yet how many Churchmen without any anguish indulge in the worlds ways. How many Churches offer the people these “poisons” mixed with divine truth. What a deadly mixture! Church depart from the world, may we be able to say with the Apostle Paul: “the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world!” May it be so.
