How Do We Touch Jesus

How Do We Touch Jesus?Mark 5:21-34 (KJV) 21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. 22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, 23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. 24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. 25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Introduction

Here in this story we have three different classifications of people one who fell at his feet, a group who thronged him, and a lady who touched his garments. We have a choice as Christians, we can either get at His feet, throng him, or touch him. Let us look at this in more detail.

I. Jarius
21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. 22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, 23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

a. Jarius fell at his feet
v.22
This verse says that he fell at his feet which in the greek is pipto meaning he fell down at his feet. For a ruler to fall at Jesus feet means humility.
b. Jesus Showed Humility when he laid aside his glory
Luke 9:28-36

c. If we are going to touch Jesus we must come with Humility
James 4:8-10 (KJV) 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
d. Jarius fell at his feet. Things happen at the feet of Jesus
Deliverance
Mark 7:25 (KJV) 25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
Luke 8:35 (KJV) 35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
The Word of God brought forth
Luke 10:39 (KJV) 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.

Hope for the Hopeless
John 11:32 (KJV) 32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
Worship
Revelation 1:17 (KJV) 17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

e. besought him greatly
In the greek means parakaleo

He was wanting comfort from Jesus

He was wanting Jesus to perform the miraculous

Not only did he ask Jesus to do the miraculous he believe that Jesus could do the miraculous

"That She May Be Healed, and that SHE SHALL LIVE"

We see it in the Old Testament that God is the healer

Exodus- I am the Lord that Healeth Thee

Psalms 103- Who healeth all thine diseases

It was prophecied in the atonement

Is
53:5- By His Stripes we are healed

Jesus began the fulfillment of this prophecy in his ministry

He then passed it on to the church in
Mark 16

James makes reclarification of it

James 5

We have that power today, and it is part of our Ecclesiological Ministry

But He said SHE may be healed- This is past tense in the Greek He believed as already it happend

This part here gives us that hope of shall live

Sounds like the answer Martha Gave Jesus in
John 11

We must understand that no matter how we suffer on earth we cannot forget the fact a better day is coming

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV) 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Revelation 21:4 (KJV) 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. II. You have people thronging Jesus v.24
a. The Second group was the multitude that was thronging Jesus. This in the Greek means pressed against or
sunuthelbow

b. They just wanted to be satisfied. They watched the miracles, they watched Jesus in action but didn't really participate. We have a group like that in the church today

c. God wants us to grow deeper

Revelation 3:15-20 (KJV) 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
To not grow deeper gets us lukewarm

To not grow deeper becomes a form

2 Timothy 3:5 (KJV) 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. To Not grow deeper opens the door for false doctrine

2 Timothy 4:3 (KJV) 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; III. The Woman with the issue of Blood v. 25-34

a. Finally there is the woman here. She had an issue of blood for 12 years

b. She went to all the sources, but nothing worked

c. So she saw Jesus

d. Notice what she did

1. She had to press through the crowd

2. She had to make her mind to touch the Master, When she said that if she could touch his garments this in the Greek is in the perfect tense meaning that it was for that point on

3. She got Jesus attention

She kept pushing through until something happend

Conclusion No Problem is to great for Him to solve; No wound is too deep for Him to heal in our lives! We Do Not need an Appointment all we need to do is come unto Him because He's never outta reach at all.
